Liverpool beat Manchester City 2-1 at Anfield, and climbed up one place above Southampton in EPL Table. Jordan Henderson opened scoring for The Reds at 11st minute, assisted by Raheem Sterling. Edin Dzeko cancelled out the Liverpool captain's effort at 25th minute with a equalizer, assisted by Sergio Agüero. Stoke City scored last-gasp penalty to beat Aston Villa 2-1 in Tim Sherwood's first game in reign. Scott Sinclair's header put Villa ahead at 20th minute. Burnley came from behind to draw 1-1 with 10-men Chelsea in a dramatic Premier League match at Stamford Bridge. The Blues taken a lead at 14th-minute, after Branislav Ivanovic's goal, assisted by Eden Hazard. Hazard took the ball past a bunch of Burney players inside the box area, and delivered the ball unmarked Ivanovic, before he shot the ball to bottom right corner of the net. It's the Serbian defender's fourth Premier League goal of the season. Chelsea were left 10-men after Nemanja Matic was sent off at 70th minute, after he angrily seethed at Ashley Barnes' lunge following to Barnes tackle. Matic, seems now set to miss next Sunday's Capital One Cup final against Tottenham. Eleven minutes later, Benjamin Mee headed in Burnley's equalizer, assisted by Kieran Trippier with a cross following a corner. Although Chelsea were dominating for most of the match, however The Blues dropped two points after the draw. Manchester City reduce the leaders' advantages into only five points, after The Citizen saw off Newcastle 5-0 in another match. Before the first half interval, referee Martin Atkinson rejected two strong penalty appeals from Chelsea. The first appeal happened after Burnley defender Michael Kightly blocked Ivanovic’s shot with his arm inside box area. Before first half was ended, Burnley captain Jason Shackell seemed to be brought down Chelsea striker Diego Costa as he was trying to shot a goal. The Blues manager Jose Mourinho might reflects with both two strong penalty appeals and Barnes's tackle towards Matic. |
